Using pearl necklaces alone should not be a great concern and one should know how to preserve the pearls too. As these pearls are very soft objects they need utmost care while storing and these pearls can be much damaged when in contact with certain things like perfume, vinegar and juice of lemon. Even dry air can also cause damage to these pearls and when pearls are kept in safe deposit vaults, can be damaged due to the dry air. Even heat can turn these fresh water pearls brown or at times dry them and at times make them crack too. Care should be taken while removing the pearl jewelry, when you are taking off a pearl ring you can very well grasp the shank or even the metal part so that it will prevent it from become loose and coming into contact with the oil in the skin.
