Flash Media Server is basically a data and a media server originally from the Macromedia and now the media server from the Adobe Systems Inc. The Flash server works with the Flash Player Runtime to create a media driven and also a multi user application which would be Internet rich. Action script, ECMA script and the other scripting languages which are based on these scripts are been used by this Flash server. The prior version of this flash server is known as the Flash Communication Server. Basically this Flash media server is a hub and the other flash based applications are been connected to the hub using a real time messaging protocol. The server would ultimately be able to send and receive and also publish the net streams and also the data to and from the users who are been connected to the stream. The server can also be connected to certain external services.
