The main application of the Heat shrink tubing lies in the areas of termination, corrosion protection, electrical insulation, cable bundling, wire marking, splicing, color coding, strain relief, mechanical protection, identification, abrasion protection and moisture and also in weather sealing. Few years ago, while the first Heat shrink sleeve was introduced to the world actually polyethylene pipeline coatings were in the starting stages to replace bituminous or tape coatings in the oil and gas industry. After then, the process of polyethylene to produce the sleeve backing was complete a new technology to the world and the major adhesives used in these sleeves and pipeline coatings were quite identical. To improve the present performance of the new technology which is been introduced which has been found significantly to produce Heat shrink sleeve since, the technology was cross-linking the polyolefin backings and the new generation adhesives which are been formulated to provide more demanding pipeline conditions.
